Do you like entrepreneurship, technology, and helping others? Then this might be the job for you! Web Hosting Canada is looking for a dynamic candidate to fill a position as a Web Hosting Technical Support Specialist in our Montreal office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to customers by phone, chat, and helpdesk
  • Suggest Cloud and hosting solutions adapted to the customer’s needs
  • Troubleshoot email issues
  • anage, register, and transfer domain names and manage DNS entries
  • Install, analyze, troubleshoot and optimize installations of WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and other content management systems
  • Ensure the proper functioning of a production environment for shared, dedicated, and virtualized web hosting servers

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of one year of experience in the field of website hosting, domain names, or cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with cPanel/WHM or other control panels
  • Proven ability in customer service, or customer facing technical assistance
  • Good understanding of email systems and protocols (POP/IMAP/SMTP), and mail servers (Exim, Dovecot, Courier)
  • Good understanding of web concepts such as DNS and IP
  • Experience in MySQL database system management an asset
  • Knowledge of PHP programming language an asset
  • Familiarity with the Ubuntu operating system an asset
  • Basic knowledge of SEO/SEM concepts
  • Excellent communication (oral + written) in French and English

Hours and Salary

This is a full-time position. WHC offers flexible scheduling with the possibility of working during weekends and/or evenings.
