Introducing cPanel 118
The latest version of cPanel, version 118, is now available at WHC! As an official cPanel partner, we provide cPanel to all of our Web, Cloud, and Dedicated hosting customers as a robust solution for managing your service.
WHC is committed to bringing you innovative features and stable platform upgrades as they become available. cPanel 118, the most recent Long Term Service (LTS) release, offers our customers proven reliability and security, along with powerful new features and enhanced functionality.
Let’s take a peek at the changes that come with version 118.
New & Updated Features
Full Support for CloudLinux 9
cPanel & WHM now fully support the CloudLinux™ 9 operating system for enhanced security, stability, and resource control.
Support for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Fresh installations on the secure, reliable Ubuntu 22.04 LTS operating system are now supported.
Let’s Encrypt Replaces Sectigo as Default SSL Provider
The Let’s Encrypt plugin is now the default SSL provider. Sectigo AutoSSL users will be automatically migrated to Let’s Encrypt, and while Sectigo is still accessible in WHM’s Manage AutoSSL section, it will soon be retired by cPanel.
Expanded Manage Team Quotas
Team users without assigned roles are now unlimited in the Manage Team tool, with access to email, FTP, and Web Disk. Team users with roles remain capped at seven for streamlined control.
Other Notable Changes:
- cPanel now supports MariaDB® 10.5, 10.6, and 10.11 on Ubuntu® systems. For more on supported versions, check out cPanel’s MySQL/MariaDB documentation.
- Roundcube will automatically upgrade to Version 1.6 and convert its database to individual SQLite databases if your server is running MySQL 5.6 or lower, or MariaDB 10.0.
- Indonesian and Turkish translations have been refreshed, making cPanel & WHM even more accessible.
- The Calendar and Contacts Server (CCS) plugin is now deprecated.
- Z-Push support for ActiveSync has also been deprecated due to lack of developer support. cPanel recommended switching to DAVx5, the third-party Android™ client, for syncing email, contacts, and calendars.
This upgrade is designed to be so seamless that you may not have even noticed it, yet it offers WHC customers enhanced security, compatibility with the latest OS and database options, and powerful site management tools, all without a hitch. Our commitment to reliability and innovation means you’re always equipped with cutting-edge solutions that evolve alongside your web hosting needs!
