Le Gala des Grands Chefs: Supporting the Canadian Cancer Society

At WHC, we believe in the power of community and giving back to those in need. On October 23rd, we had the privilege to participate in the Gala des Grands Chefs, organized by the Canadian Cancer Society and held at the stunning Marché Bonsecours in Montreal. This incredible event united the business community with some of Quebec’s most renowned chefs for an unforgettable evening, all in support of people living with cancer.

A Meaningful Cause

This year, the gala’s goal was to raise funds in support of the Jacques-Cantin Lodge. Located near Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, this lodge serves as a home away from home for people who need to travel for cancer treatment, as well as their families. In a warm, welcoming environment, the lodge provides social and emotional support to help families through one of the most difficult times of their lives. It’s an invaluable resource, and we’re proud to contribute to its ongoing success.

According to the Canadian Cancer Society, their lodges are designed to meet people’s practical needs when undergoing cancer treatment and to foster a sense of community among those who are facing similar challenges. 

A Unique Experience 

WHC was thrilled to be joined by our clients Araknyd, Hamak, and Webici for this special evening. The event kicked off with a cocktail hour, a perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet new faces within the business community. During the banquet, our tables were graced with beautifully prepared dishes by some of Canada’s most celebrated chefs.

A Night to Remember

With just vocals and piano, Canadian musician Andréanne A. Malette took the stage to give a beautifully intimate performance. Her emotionally resonant music captured the gala’s message of empathy and compassion.

Making a significant contribution to the evening’s fundraising efforts were a raffle and silent auction, which offered guests amazing prizes, including a luxury getaway to Fairmont Le Château Montebello.

The event was a tremendous success, raising over $500,000 to directly support the ongoing mission of the Jacques-Cantin Lodge. These funds will ensure the Lodge can continue providing essential care and comfort to patients and their loved ones.

A Commitment to Making a Difference

WHC is honoured to be part of this year’s gala. We believe in the importance of giving back, especially when it comes to supporting the fight against cancer. The funds raised at the Gala des Grands Chefs will help improve the lives of many, providing them with comfort, care, and hope during their treatment journeys.
