What’s new in 108?
The latest version is packed with a range of improvements in functionality, enhancements to the user interface, and a number of notable depreciations. Let's examine the details more closely...
Functionality improvements
Roundcube changes
You can now move events from the default Roundcube calendar into a different calendar. Additionally, as Horde has been deprecated in this release, any calendar events in Horde webmail will be migrated to the default Roundcube calendar automatically.
AutoSSL updates
If you’re a server administrator, it's worth noting that the Let's Encrypt plugin now comes pre-installed in version 108. However, it will not automatically be set as your default SSL provider.
Performance upgrades
The Exim mail transfer agent has been upgraded to enhance its functionality and overall performance.
New User Interface changes
The latest version has optimized the User Interface (UI) to be more user-friendly and intuitive, letting you locate useful tools and settings with ease. Some notable changes include:
- A feedback option has now been added to the cPanel interface. You can provide feedback (to cPanel) via the navigation bar or in the interface footer.
- An all-new Onboarding Assistant has been created to welcome users that have updated to the Jupiter theme.
- The ‘Paper Lantern’ theme has now been removed from all interface menu options.
Deprecated and removed items
Removal of the ‘Paper Lantern’ theme
The Paper Lantern theme has been removed from all interface menu options and is no longer available for theme selection. Any cPanel accounts using this theme will now automatically default to the Jupiter theme. And with that, Jupiter is now officially the default theme with cPanel.
Removal of Horde webmail
In version 108, the Horde webmail interface has been depreciated and removed. If you previously used Horde for your webmail, your calendars and contacts will now automatically migrate to Roundcube. We now recommend using Roundcube for your webmail. See How to use Roundcube Webmail to learn more.
